Meat Tag

Stepford Meat Tag User Guide: v3.8.0

For the most part you do not need to do anything to configure the tag out of the box other then adjust it's attachment point on your body. The one thing you should do is to edit the "meatinfo" notecard. For details about this see the owner configuration section.

Features

This new interactive tag includes configuration options for the owner/wearer and RP options for other people. This eliminates the need to have different tags for different meat grades and allows for a lot of new features, most of which can be turned on/off by the owner:

In general the owner can control what is allowed and others can access the features to control it. Assuming everything is enabled the tag provides the following:

  • Read about the meat
  • Stand for Inspection
  • Meat Grading
  • Order cuts of meat
  • Vote for cooking style
  • List orders and votes
  • Shock the Meat
  • Tazer the Meat
  • Tug on the tag
  • Restrain the meat
  • Meat Leash
  • Vibrator
  • Lotto winners are identified and notified (must come to Stepford within 3 days of the draw)
  • Dice losers can be identified if they are present at dice and the status is triggered by the host.
  • Today's Special selections are identified and notified (must be in stepford to be selected)
  • Condemned selections are identified and notified (must be in stepford to be selected)
  • If the owner's entry on the meat wall is touched they will be notified (but not told who touched them)
  • Stepford device integration

Each feature is further explained below:

Read About the Meat
This is essentially the same function as the meat wall where someone clicking on the tag will be presented with the contents of an information notecard supplied by the wearer. The wearer can edit and adjust the notecard any time and anyone can read after touching their tag. The wearer gets a private message any time someone touches their tag.

Meat Inspection
Someone can request the meat stand for inspection. If allowed by the wearer they will adopt a display pose until released by the inspector or through the wearer's menu.

Meat Grading
This allows someone to set the meat's grade. If the meat accepts this grade the date, grade, and inspector are stored and displayed when the tag is read and when viewing meat stats. If the meat sets their own grade they are shown as the one that set it. Only the most recent grading is shown.

Ordering and Cooking Style
Ordering allows patrons to select a cut of the meat and vote for their preferred cooking style. Each person can only order 1 cut and once that cut has been ordered it is no longer available for others. Each person also can only vote for 1 cooking style. People may change their order or vote as frequently as they want.

The wearer can reset the tag to clear all the orders. The tag will notify the wearer and play a sound each time someone orders.

The tag will also display a green ribbon below to identify that orders are being taken for this meat.

If all the cuts are ordered the ribbon turns gold.

Anyone can list the orders. This will list each person and which cut they ordered as well as list the votes for any cooking styles preferred.

The meat can "Serve" the orders (sending an IM to each person that ordered that their order has been delivered) this also clears the current orders and will hide the ribbon.

Shock the meat
If enabled by the owner, people can send a shock to the meat through the tag. This will play a sound and also an anim (if the meat isn't sitting) as well as send a private message to the meat indicating who shocked them. A count of the total number of times the meat gets shocked is also kept and reported to the meat each time.

Tazer the meat
If enabled by the owner, people can activate the tag's tazer. This will play a sound and also an anim (if the meat isn't sitting) as well as send a private message to the meat indicating who shocked them. The tazer will continue shocking the meat until they pass out (aproximately 30 seconds) or until the person that shocked them turns it off. The meat will also receive the option to 'wake up' at this point. Anyone else using the tag will be able to wake up the meat but not do things like shock, tazer, or tug the tag until after the meat is awake again. If nothing happens the meat will wake up after about 5 minutes.
A count of the total number of times the meat gets tazered is also kept and reported to the meat each time.

Tug on the tag
If enabled by the owner others who are within a 5m radius can "tug" on the tag. This will play an anim (if the meat isn't sitting) as well as send a private message to the meat indicating who tugged the tag. If someone is further then 5m away and attempts to tug the tag they will get a message to move closer. This is both for realism and more to prevent abuse.

Restrain the meat
The tag will allow the meat to be restrained, ropes are attached tieing it's hands behind the back. The meat must accept this before it will complete. Meat can escape their own bindings (this is for RP not a RLV restriction) Anyone else may also release the meat from their bindings. This function uses experience tools for temp-attachment so it only works in Stepford.

Meat Leash
The tag has a leash function based on the open collar leashing system. If someone accesses the leash menu the wearer will get the option to allow or ignore this person. If allowed, subsequent access by the same person will not generate more requests. The wearer can stop the leash any time by resetting their tag.
This also allows the meat to be leashed to specific points configured for this around town.
The person leasing the meat can also request a leash holder to ensure the leash attaches to their hand.

Tag Vibrator
The meat tag can be set to vibrate. This will send a private notification and play a buzzing sound until it is turned off. For RP purposes the wearer can't turn off the vibrator function. Resetting the tag will turn it off.

Lotto Notification
The tag will respond to notification from the Stepford Meat lottery. If the wearer wins the lottery and they are in Stepford at the time their tag will play a sound, send a private message, and turn red. If they are not wearing the tag, off-line, or in a different region this will happen the next time they arrive in Stepford, wearing the tag within three days of the lottery draw. If the tag is reset the red colour will be removed. There is no way to manually set the tag into the red lotto winner mode this can only be done by the lottery system.

Today's Special
The tag will respond to notification from the Stepford Meat Selection button. If the wearer is selected their tag will play a sound, send a private message, and turn blue indicating the wearer has been selected as today's special. This status automatically resets after 24 hours if they survive that long.

Dice Loser (Dice Status)
The tag will respond to a request from the Stepford Dice Game host. the wearer must be present at the game. When triggered their tag will play a sound, send a private message, and turn orange indicating the status. This ability can be disabled in the owner options menu and is removed when the tag is reset.

Condemned (Snuff Status)
The tag will respond to notification from the Stepford Snuff Button. If the wearer is selected their tag will play a sound, send a private message, and turn black indicating the wearer is condemned to be snuffed. This can be disabled in the owner options menu and is removed when the tag is reset.

Meat Wall Notification
When in Stepford the wearer will get a notification any time someone clicks their picture on the meat wall. The notification will not say who is clicking, only that they are being looked at.

Devices and Games
Many Stepford cooking devices will detect the tag, tag will hide automatically when you use (sit on) such a device. After cooking for a little while, the tag will also add one to your 'cooked' count. This is the total number of times you have been cooked. Many cooking devices in Stepford will trigger this count.

  • The Diner Roaster
  • Pig Deck Roaster
  • Beach Roasters

Execution devices also detect when you are snuffed and will add to your snuff count automatically. Currently the following devices include the trigger:

  • All Chopping Blocks
  • Single Gallows
  • M&N Electric Chair
  • The Stan Gallows

These counts are stored through SL experience keys and will survive through tag resets and upgrades. There are also town stats showing who gets cooked, snuffed, tazed, and shocked the most.

Over time, more devices and games that interact with the meat tag will be developed in Stepford.

Owner Configuration:

By default all features are enabled. The wearer is presented with a different menu of options for the tag then anyone else. They can also edit the meatinfo notecard to customize their tag.

  • Provide a "meatinfo" notecard
  • Show/Hide the tag
  • Select Your Grade (AAA, AA, A, B, C, or U for Ungraded), Show/Hide, and/or Hide the clip
  • Auto-Hide
  • Auto-Disable
  • Allow/Prohibit receiving shocks
  • Allow/Prohibit receiving tugs
  • Allow/Prohibit use of the vibrator
  • Allow/Prohibit people ordering and voting on cooking style
  • Allow/Prohibit remote access
  • Allow/Prohibit receiving random actions in Stepford
  • Allow/Prohibit Snuff Status
  • Allow/Prohibit Dice Status
  • Choose Gender
  • Disable
  • Resetting tag state
  • Get Cloned

The "meatinfo" Notecard
There is a Full Perm note card included in the contents of the tag. Edit the tag, and edit the notecard to include a custom message that anyone can see when they "read" your tag. Each line must be 255 characters or less in length. These are the same restrictions as the notecard on the stepford meat wall and in most cases it would be appropriate to use the same content here.

Select your Grade, Tag and Part Visibility
You can show/hide the tag (helpful for use with some outfits) and use the grade selection to change the tag to show grade AAA, AA, A, B, C, or U for Ungraded. These settings will be remembered by the tag. Also in the appearance sub-menu is the auto-hide function. This will hide the tag entirely when you're not in Stepford and show it (back to the way it was which may include a hidden ring) again as soon as you return to the sim. Auto-disable works much the same way except in this case it also prevents the functions of the tag while hidden.

Allow/Prohibit Shocks, Tazer, Tugs, Vibrator, Orders
These toggles allow the wearer to disable/enable certain functions if they do not wish these types of interaction via the tag. These settings will be remembered by the tag unless the script is reset.

Allow/Prohibit Remote Access
This toggle will prevent things like games, the lotto, and other Stepford devices interacting with the tag directly.

Allow/Prohibit Random Actions in Stepford
This will toggle random things that can happen in Stepford only. At the time of writing the only thing this controls is a random shock device that will select meat at random in town and shock them. The frequency of these shocks depends on how much meat is in town. Disabling this option will prevent this and any future random actions.

Allow/Prohibit Snuff Status
The black tag status indicating the wearer should be snuffed may be disabled if this sort of RP is not desired.

Allow/Prohibit DiceStatus
The orange tag status indicating the wearer lost a dice game may be disabled if this sort of RP is not desired.

Choose Gender
Choose between Male or Female. This changes the selection of meat cuts for ordering and some button pronouns between him/her.

Disable
Turns off all interactive features of the tag without forgetting any of the individual settings.

Reset
Resetting the tag will set it back to the default white colour, turn off the vibrator if on, remove any leash, clear all orders and style votes. It does not change any configuration settings ie: the grade will remain whatever it was set to, option toggles will not change. The idea for this reset is to revert the state back to normal after an RP or provide a way out for the wearer from an unwanted situation like a leash.

The wearer can also always just detach the tag to escape a bad situation.

Get Cloned
This button will TP you directly to the Stepford Cloning facility. It's designed to be a way to finish an RP cleanly. The tag stores the date of the last time this was used as your "Last Cloning Date"
